Easter Time

I am so grateful for the atonement of Jesus Christ in my life. I know that it is through Him that I can be forgiven of the mistakes I have made through out my life. The atonement is for all men who will “Come unto Him.” The Savior, Jesus Christ suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross for all the sins and pains of the world. It is through seeking him that I can feel peace for the pains of past mistakes and comfort knowing I can overcome future ones. Our Father in Heaven knew we couldn’t live perfectly and that we would make mistakes and feel pain. What a beautiful plan that saves us and comforts us from the pains we must endure in this life. Our Savior lived his life as a perfect example and gave his life in perfect love. He rose again overcoming the sins of the world, and fulfilling the law of sacrifice. He offers forgiveness to all those that seek it. He lives and loves us despite our imperfection. If we seek him we will find peace.

A long awaited Tradition Shared

A long awaited tradition shared! Growing up my sister Ellen learned to make sugar eggs and every Easter we would make them. She did most of the work mixing the sugar putting them in the molds etc. I remember what fun it was to shop for the little figurines to go inside and then to create you own little Easter scene inside the egg. I decided it was time my kids learned that art of making sugar eggs. Yesterday we mixed the sugar and food coloring and set our molds to dry overnight. Today we did the fun part creating the scene and decorating the outside. I let them do what they wanted so they turned out quite unique!!!

Lemonade $.25

The cars were lining up for Lemonade! The kids had their first lemonade stand today! Lemonade stands sure have changed since I was a kid. We charged $.05 and kept all the money we earned to buy something we really wanted usually candy at 7-11! They charged $.25 and are donating the money to the animal shelter! Wow! I am impressed! One funny, my kids must watch too much TV. After counting up the big $10.64 Marisa said, "Wow! That is a lot of money Mr. Crabs (character on Sponge Bob who likes $$$) would want that!!"

The Baseball Cap Cowboy

Last night for Kim my sister's Birthday we took her out the the Elephant Bar for dinner and then I took her to the Rodney Atkins concert. It was held at the Henderson Pavilion. It was an out door venue and normally in sunny little Vegas it would have been perfect for an out door concert this time of year-but it was Freeeeeezing!!! The wind was blowing. But we managed to keep warm. The concert was awesome!! Jeff is thinking have turned into a groupie or something because I was excited about the whole event! I had to explain to him I have only been to three concerts in my life. In high school I went to "New Kids on the Block" In college I went to Colin Ray another country fella, and he took me to Roger Whittaker once here in Vegas. Don't get me wrong we've been to lots of other venues on the strip and when we lived in NYC. I like these songs. I had downloaded one or two on my ipod a while back. I didn't even know who he was or what he looked like until I investigated getting tickets to surprise my sister. Jeff happened to see a poster at the grocery store about the concert it had a picture of Rodney Atkins, he came home and said, "He is a young buck!" I saw the little concerned twinkle in his eye! Nothing to worry about just good music!! And it was dispite the freezing wind! Happy Birthday to Kimmy!
