Did you have one of these??

This is a "Crayola Caddy!" I think I got it when I was 8 or 9 years old!! Of course these aren't the same crayons paints or markers but the Caddy itself it the same old one I treasured over 30 years ago!!! My parents kept the caddy for me all these years and I have been holding on to it wanting to bring it back to the best art set I can ever remember!!! I finally found the finishing touches today while I was out. The water color paints were easy they haven't changed much over the years. Crayola markers come in packs of 10 now so 2 markers don't have a home. I used two boxes of 24 crayons to fill the crayons. I think they sell a 48 count box but opted for something I already had. But the tempera paints left me with a challenge. I hadn't been able to find the right size little jars until today!!! Now my "Crayola Caddy" is complete! These days I love the saying 'Eat [use] it up. Wear it out. Make do, or do without.' And I would like to add to it use and reuse even 30 years later!!!

Tough Enough to Wear Pink!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!! I can't believe I actually got Grayson to wear a pink shirt!!! He said, "NO WAY!" This shirt was a hand-me-down from some friends and it is an Abercrombie shirt, so first I told him that this was a nice shirt and if probably cost a lot of money and he should wear it. He wasn't going for it. I told him if he was ever going to wear a pink shirt today would be the day!! Still NO! We always go to the Rodeo at the Cache County Fair in Logan and there theme for the past few years has been "Tough enough to wear pink!" He laid out another T-shirt something with monkeys on it saying "What ever it is I didn't do it!" Yeah typical!!! I don't know what happened but when he came down in the morning he had on the PINK shirt! See he is tough enough to wear pink! Even if he screams call 9-1-1 when he gets a little zit! I don't think this would work on Jeff!!

"Nobody say that was a good prayer!"

Often times when one of the kids pray at night and we can tell that they are really thinking about their prayer and what they are saying we praise them and tell them "That was a good prayer!" Well tonight before family prayer we discovered an absolute disaster in the upstairs bedrooms. So after tidying up we knelt for family prayer and Dad said it. In his prayer he prayed that we would take care of our things and clean up after ourselves etc. etc. (I once learned that if there is a message you need to relay, praying about it out loud will help to convey it!) Well the prayer laid it all out there! After we finished it was silent. Then Marisa piped up and said, "Nobody say that was a good prayer!!" Apparently she was listening, and she didn't like what she heard! What a gem!!!

40 Years and Counting!!! Happy b-day to Jeff

Watch D.O.G. DAD

The long awaited day for Dad to be THE WATCH D.O.G. Dad!! (Dads of Great Students) Jeff signed up back in September to be a WATCH D.O.G. at the kids school. The Watch D.O.G.S. go to school with the kids and patrol the halls, parking lot, play ground class rooms and lunch room. They help out with anything anyone might need. He helped in Grayson's class leading a reading group, and listened in Hannah's class as they had a lesson on writing a persuasive essay. He got to have lunch with Grayson. Hannah said hi at least but she was busy with her friends!! He helped out in Music and P.E. Poor Marisa!! She missed it! She came home from school yesterday not feeling well and threw up this morning. She has had a pajama and popsicle day at home today. Dad promised to take her on a Daddy Daughter date when she is feeling better to make up for it!

Aunt Kim & Hannah Sewing Fun!

Happy Valentine's Day!! Aunt Kimmy and Hannah surprised us with Valentine pillow cases. They spent a whole Saturday ironing and sewing these spunky Valentine pillow cases. Hannah is learning more and more about her sewing machine! Big thanks to Aunt Kim for coming up with this awesome sewing project. Hannah got to count it toward big time brownie points from mom, dad, little bro and sis, as well as a project in her Faith in God book! Good Job Hannah!!!

So easy even the kids can do it!!!

This Swiffer vacuum is the best! It is perfect for wood and tile floors. Kids can even do it! Marisa got play dough for Christmas and after she is done playing with it she goes and gets this awesome light weight vacuum and vacuums up all the little bits of play dough. It is also great for getting those hidden dust bunnies!! It is only about $30 bucks at Target or Walmart. I love it!!!
