Reading Nests and Tents

I didn't know that Nevada Reading week would be followed by Nevada Cleaning week ! It was Nevada Reading week this week! The kids were really encouraged to read a lot and mark their minutes. I am always happy when they pick up a book! Little did I know that when we put the kids to bed a little early so they would have time to do some extra reading I would wake up to this! Marisa used every pillow and blanket she owns to make her a comfy little reading nest. Grayson opted for a tent instead! It's not really that bad! I am so glad they enjoy reading and learning! However they don't enjoy cleaning as much!

Two Wheels

Marisa learned how to ride a bike this month! Jeff worked with her a little on Friday night and then Saturday we were heading out for a ride and she just took off! She is still wobbly and scary to watch. But she is loving it and trying to venture out around the neighborhood! I am not sure she really needs anymore Independence these days!!! We have to keep our on this one!!!

Bear Trail

Grayson has been working hard to earn his Bear for Cub Scouts. He planned and carried out a family hike as well as passing off four other achievements and one in Faith in God. Jeff, Glenna, (his mom) Grayson and Marisa enjoyed some of the beauty that Nevada has to offer. They went to the bird aviary first thing and then a road trip near Laughlin to Christmas tree pass to hike down near the Colorado river. They had a fun day shooting bee bee guns, picking up shells and picnicking together!

Tonsil less

Say goodbye to strep throat!!! Hannah had her tonsils and adenoids out in Feb. She was such a good sport. Of course it meant lots of ice cream so how bad could it be? The Doctor said usually he just has to scrape them a little and they come out but because she has had so many infections there was a lot of scar tissue and he had to dig to get at them. The recovery was long. She missed six days of school and had to sit out of P.E. for two weeks after surgery. The younger you are the better for this surgery. She is back at everything and glad to have that experience over with. She has good friends and Auntie Kim who brought her slushies and care packages. We are glad she is feeling good and won't be as susceptible to ear and throat infections.

Hannah was so brave getting her IV!

Going home! She even managed to crack a smile!

WHAT A DOLL!

My baby still loves babies! Saturday we went on an outing and Marisa had to bring her (our) baby along. After making sure she was dressed appropriately with shoes and everything we headed out. At bed time this was the scene. She dressed them in their pajamas and made little beds for them and one for herself! She even laid out their clothes for the next day! So precious! I Savor these moments.
