Take Me out to the Ballgame!!

Watch the Video. Memorial Day we went to the ball park to watch the Las Vegas 51's. It was team day for Grayson! Not just team day but his team day! Grayson's baseball team got to go out on the field with the 51's players. The announcer announced the 51's player and then a member of our team and they got to run out on the field together. They got a ball autographed by their player. It was a fun game. The kids all got free hats and Jeff made sure all of the kids got to get a ball! He is good at that! I remember when we were first married and living in Virgina we went to Baltimore for an Oriels game and he made sure I got one. The hot dogs, popcorn, pretzels and peanuts were all $1. What a great way to spend the day!!

Bristlecone Storytelling Festival

"What is carved on rock will wear away in time...What is told from mouth to mouth will live forever." Vietnamese Proverb

Hannah and her friend Julia were selected to represent their school at the Britstlecone Regional Storytelling Festival. They preformed their story in front of the student council at school and the council voted. Only two groups were selected. The Bristlecone Story telling Festival is for students in grades 4-12. It is the largest story telling festival in the United States. It is patterned after the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival in Provo, Utah. Last night was the Festival. Here is their performance of the story "Cinderella." We are so proud of her and Julia!!!

Not just a stroll in the park!

Yesterday Grayson took the dog for a walk when he found this little family of geese just walking down the street. Apparently they had been walking down they busy street in front of our housing development. One of our neighbors took it upon himself to lead the ducks back to the golf course where other ducks hang out. There is a wall with an iron fence dividing our neighborhood and the golf course the geese couldn't figure how to get across. The man brought a wood plank to make a ramp for the babies to get over and hoped the parents could just hop or fly over. After two of the babies went over the parents were freaking out because they couldn't find them. Then we put the other two babies over hoping the mom and dad would just fly over. They were really freaking out now thrusting their heads through the metal bars. We didn't dare pick them up so we waited until they got on the wood plank and then the men lifted it up and they took off flying. It was so beautiful to watch. I am sure they would have found their way eventually but it was fun for the kids to have a little adventure!!!
